Everything happens online, and for the destinations below, approval reliably lands within a week for Indian passport holders. Here's the current state of play, fastest first.
The instant tier: under 72 hours
- Sri Lanka (ETA) — often approved within hours; 30-day stay
- Bahrain — instant to 24 hours; 14-day stay
- Oman — 24–48 hours; 30-day visit visa
- UAE (Dubai) — 2–4 days; the most reliable option for last-minute Dubai plans
Sri Lanka deserves a special mention: the ETA is close to instant for most applicants, and the only document you genuinely need is a passport scan. It's become our standard recommendation for travellers who decide on a Friday that they want to be on a beach by Monday.
The fast tier: three to five days

The catch with every e-Visa: approval speed depends almost entirely on document quality.
